Just a short note to thank you for your valuable time, patience and knowledge during our kiln selection process for our timber milling operations in Fiji.
As you are aware, the Mahogany resource in Fiji is extremely valuable and the drying process is a key component to extracting the maximum price for this commodity on the world market. Therefore it was critical that we selected a kiln with the most technically advanced features to provide superior results. After viewing your prototype facility in Mordialloc we were impressed with the visibly superior drying and quality outcomes you were able to achieve and the ACTS Solar Kiln became our preferred choice.
Just as important, especially for a country like Fiji, was a simple (virtually foolproof) system that could be monitored remotely to prevent local operator error, particularly during training periods. Once again the ACTS Solar Kiln was our preferred option due to its superior online reporting technology and ability to provide remote support.
Finally (and according to the bean-counters most importantly) we were seeking the most cost-effective option with the lowest up-front cost and minimum operating costs, particularly considering the expense of gas in Fiji. I guess this is what initially attracted us to the ACTS product and the price difference is significant. In fact, even in this market with so many timber operations being sold, we have not found any second-hand conventional kilns that are priced anywhere near the ACTS Solar Kilns.
Of course the advantage of being able to dry 500m3 of lumber at one time rather than continually rotating smaller amounts of stock through a smaller conventional kiln was an added bonus and will enable us to keep our labour at the kiln site to a minimum.
